My hamster enjoys my company and greets me kindly whenever I come home from school. But... when ever I go to hold her she just can't sit still. She is 7 months old and she is a syrian hamster. Also, my hamster chews on the bars and I try and take her out of her cage as much as possible so she won't do it. I've tried olive oil, soap, clothes pins... Nothing works. Please, Please do give me answers/suggestions. Anything is helpful.

Don't worry! This is normal! Don't stop your hamster from chewing on their bars. Their teeth grow non-stop so it is important that they chew; no matter how many chew toys u give them! I have a Syrian hamster too, and they are quite hyper. All these things that your hamster is doing is normal. She isn't sick.
This is a common myth. Hamsters should not chew on their bars, they normally do this if they are stressed or bored. The metal bars do not wear down their teeth. You should be worried if you love your hamster. I'm sorry if this comes off as rude. I just want all hamsters to have a happy life. Some problems to solve this are to get a bigger cage. The minimum is 450 square inches of floor space. and to make boredom breakers.
