Yes, I think that the reasons for the US actions have stayed the same, but in different areas. Back then, the US had actions in Cuba and the Philippines. Since World War 2, the US has action in Russia and the Middle East. The US tried to stop the USSR from spreading communism during the Cold War (1945-1991). The US is now the only country that gets involved in other countries. They protect themselves from tanks and send their military to fight in the Middle East for their freedom.
