I've wondered about that as well. Marijuana does have medical benefits. One of my Aunts had trouble holding her food, after just a couple of hits she was able to eat an entire meal after days of not being able to. the reason Marijuana is still illegal in the US is because it is a mind altering drug. despite that many OTC drugs can give you the same effects like driving while you're sleeping, it is still illegal. I have never heard of anyone overdosing on marijuana before.
I don't smoke it myself but I think if marijuana was to legalized there would be similar laws people would have to follow, similar to the drinking and driving laws.
highly controversial. Bad outweighs the so called good a million to one crime would be totally out of control & in air will kill many like myself who are allergic to it.It is a tool of the very Devil himself and destroy the lives of millions.

The crime surrounding marijuana is already out of control. Legalizing it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Remember the prohibition of alcohol in the mid 20's. and into the 30's. even though it was illegal alcohol was still widely available. we have the same thing with marijuana, weather it is illegal or not it will always be available. As long as there is a demand for it, there will be people who will supply it. That is why people call it a never ending war.
I would not vote to legalize marijuana but that is what I have learned over time.
So why would it not be advantageous to the American tax base just as alcohol is ?
that's the point I was trying to make. If marijuana does become legal it won't matter to me either way. if alcohol was to become illegal again it would be the same thing, i wouldn't care. people make a choice to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol, I wouldn't want to do either which is why I wouldn't vote for it. I don't really care for either marijuana or alcohol. I would rather be sober.
