Mia, the answer is 36. You don't do 3 x 3 and then 36 / 9. It's just 36in²

No, Evan, it's squares. You would use the little "two" to indicate a squared answer. A cubic unit would be the little "three".
Therefore, your answer that you put down is correct but without the little three.
