It has been known since the 1940s that weather in the US is warmer than normal, and that has been the cause of our bumper crops every year, not any change in fertilizers or machinery. This is a very unusual warm spell and nobody has any idea why it is so. After about fifty years people started calling it "global warming". The only problems are political, and the only proposed solutions are new taxes.
